Seniors - Class of 2024

Class of 2024 parents/guardians,

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we have navigated through every potential scenario in order to make this day special for our seniors, their families and friends. We have spent most of the day speaking to meteorologists to assist with making the best decision possible for graduation. Due to the potential for thunderstorms in the forecast, we have made the difficult decision to move the graduation ceremony to M.O. Campbell Center. After careful monitoring, we believe this change is essential to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all.

Please review the logistics for our celebration below:

  • Graduation will be held Saturday, June 1 at 3:00 p.m. Doors will open at 2 p.m. for guests. Graduates should arrive at 1:30 p.m.

  • M.O. Campbell Center is located at 1865 Aldine Bender.

  • With the new indoor location, we are required to adjust our seating capacity. As a result, each family will now receive 7 tickets instead of the original 9. We recognize that this may be disappointing, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Rest assured, the ceremony will be streamed live on our school website to ensure that all loved ones, near and far, can still participate in this exciting occasion.

  • Seven tickets were distributed to students earlier today.

  • Another email will be sent tomorrow that will contain all logistics for the ceremony.

We did not arrive at this decision lightly. Our goal is to celebrate our students' achievements in the safest way possible, while still preserving the spirit and excitement of their graduation day. We met with the senior class earlier today and shared with them the possibility of having to change to this new plan. I’m so impressed with their maturity and understanding. Parents and families, we know that this is a celebration that you have been waiting on for many years. We hope that the excitement of the afternoon will leave a lasting impression for your child and the wonderful people that have supported them.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Sincerely,

Dr. Demetrius McCall
Superintendent of Schools
