AVID Activities
College Trips
The AVID program provides AVID students with the opportunity to visit colleges and universities around Texas. During the trip students are able to meet with college advisors to discuss enrollment and prepare an academic plan. College trips are also a great opportunity for students to explore academic programs, residence life, organizations, clubs, and more.

Community Service
Community service is a great way for students to collaborate, help others, and learn about themselves in a fun, safe environment. The AVID program hosts several community service events throughout the school year for AVID students to attend. Completing community service events also enrich students' resumes and portfolios. Students will be provided with the opportunity to meet community service hours and corresponding graduation requirements.

Workshops
Day of event: October 22, 2022
Where will it be held? C.E. King High School Room:3302A

In collaboration with the KHS College and Career Center, AVID will hold a day in which all seniors can learn more about college financial aid. The day will begin with breakfast and activities for students, AVID tutors, and other staff, followed by an informative presentation about post-graduation, scholarships, loans, funding, and more. Students will also have a chance to participate in our Scholarship Hunt in search of scholarship QR codes. Finally, students will have the opportunity to prepare, write, revise, and edit college and scholarship essays with one-on-one help from AVID tutors.
