Dr. Jillian Howard

Greetings C. E. King High School Families,

I am both thrilled and honored to serve as the principal of C. E. King High School. I am a Houston native and graduate of Evan E. Worthing Senior High School. While growing up, my mother instilled “Good. Better. Best. Never let it rest… until your good is better and your better is best.” Through this mantra, I was afforded a full track scholarship to attend Tulane University where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Childhood Development and a minor in Spanish. Shortly after graduating, I enlisted in the Naval Reserves while also serving as a Bilingual Pre-Kindergarten teacher in Irving, Texas.

Serving language learners has been my greatest joy and I was honored to have my work with students recognized by becoming the 2014 Texas Elementary Teacher of the Year. Shortly thereafter, I became a high school administrator and developed a passion for instructional leadership.

I am a fervent believer in public education and understand the importance it plays in creating opportunities that can change the lives of generations to come. Setting every Panther on a path to graduation and ensuring enriching academic, co-curricular, and extracurricular experiences while addressing their socio-emotional needs, unique interests and post secondary aspirations is my highest priority. I plan to uphold the values of student safety, personal accountability, community involvement, collaboration, and instructional leadership to ensure improved student outcomes. Together, we will create a culture for all to “Thrive in the Panther Pride.”

Respectfully,

Jillian Howard Principal C. E. King High School (346) 378-7000 JillianHoward@sheldonisd.com
