Tamika Whiters

Hello Panthers!

My name is Tamika Nelson Whiters. This will be 2nd year of teaching at C.E. King High School. I am a Business CTE teacher. This year I will be teaching Money Matter and Business Management.  I am proud native Houstonian. I have two great boys!  Many years ago, I graduated from Klein Forest High. After graduating, I went to Sam Houston State University for one year. After being homesick, I came home and enrolled to Texas Southern University for a year. While at TSU, I started working at a local bank as a teller, as I thought back then, I started making money, so I stop going to school. I learned how to prepare income tax through a class at my high school and have been preparing income tax since that time. After over of 20 years in the banking industry, I decided to go back to college to fulfill my goal in getting my bachelor's degree. While working full time, I went back to Lonestar University to receive my associate degree. Then I transferred back to Sam Houston State University to receive my bachelor's degree. In 2021, I received my bachelor's degree in Business Administration.  I made the decision to come back to teach because I want to help our fellow students to prepare to be college, career or military ready and lifelong learners. Daily, I let my students know that it is never too late to fulfill your dreams. You just must stay focus!  My future goal is to receive my master’s degree in taxation. With all that said,  I am always excited to teach my students about a subject that I love! I am excited to have a great 2023-2024 year!!!
