Ms. Tammy Reed
Ms. Reed is the Technical Theatre Director at King H.S. and has been teaching technical theatre for 22 years. Under her tutelage students have excelled in every avenue available in theatre, advancing to nationals in acting, duet singing, film, and tech events in the Thespian Organization, with students winning Best Short Film, and Superior ratings in Marketing and Costume Design at Nationals. On the State Thespian level her students have received Superior ratings well over 20 times.
Her students have also competed in Tommy Tunes and Betty Buckley awards, winning a Betty Buckley award for Best Costume Design and a Tommy Tune award for Best Scenic Design. Her programs have received a total of 31 nominations for musical theatre achievement in those contests.
In UIL One Act Play competition her students have advanced to District 14 times, Area 3 times, and Regionals once. They have also participated and were selected for stage readings three times in the Alley Theatre’s Playwrighting 360 program. She has also created an Improvisational Comedy Troupe at two of her schools and a 30/60 Original Sketch Theatre Troupe at three, and has successfully run the Summer Theatre Workshop Program as a major fundraising campaign for 14 years.
