Teresa Matchett

I was born in Houston, but grew up in San Antonio Texas.  I was a product of the Texas public school music system, as I started my music education in the first string class my school ever offered.  I graduated with honors in 1987 from the University of Houston with a degree in Cello Performance.  I  have been a cellist, and private teacher for the last 30 years.  Four years ago, I changed the focus of my teaching to public school orchestra.  I have been married to my husband Steve for 34 years.  I don't have any children, but I do have two fur babies, my rescue dogs Taffy and Wylie.  My hobbies are cooking, knitting, and this summer I started to learn gardening.
