General Information

Early College High School

Early college high schools are small personalized schools designed for qualified students to simultaneously earn a high school diploma and an Associate’s Degree or up to two years of credit toward a Bachelor’s Degree. The concept began in 2002 and is founded on the principles, research, and support of several partner organizations, including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Early college high schools utilize innovative methods and provide the academic and social support systems to promote student success in intensive, college preparatory studies. Sheldon Early College High School has partnered with San Jacinto College North to combine high school and college level classes beginning in the ninth grade.
