J Louis No, M.Ed.
I am honored to join the talented teaching staff and the learning community of Sheldon ISD for the 2019-2020 school year. I recently relocated from Cincinnati, Ohio where I taught at an inner city Catholic school and at a local Catholic university, Xavier University. I received my B.A. degree in Spanish Literature from the University of Cincinnati, in Cincinnati, Ohio. I also received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Literature from the same school. I graduated with academic distinction, graduating as a University Honors Scholar. I also graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, with a Master’s degree in Bilingual Education. In my courses, the emphasis is on learning and developing an appreciation for the different Latin American cultures and traditions. I closely follow a constructivist teaching model (or “learner-centered” model) that will emphasize active learning techniques that will yield immediate, useful real-world applications. In all this, my goal is simple—to help all my students become successful learners. This is my 6th year as an educator.
