The United States Academic Decathlon is a ten-event scholastic competition for teams of high school students.
Each high school enters a team of twelve students: 3 Honor students (3.80 - 4.00 GPA), 3 Scholastic students (3.20 - 3.799 GPA), 3 Varsity students (0.00 - 3.199 GPA), and 3 alternate students. GPA for Academic Decathlon is calculated based competition parameters and does not follow the Sheldon ISD GPA calculation.
Each year the competition is based on a predefined theme. The theme for 2023-24 is Technology and Humanity. Regional competition will held on January 16, 17, 26 and 27. Must be able to compete on all competition days.
