Funding will be used to support the health science, culinary arts, and automotive technology programs. The award is intended to foster innovation and expand opportunities for students to complete education and career pathways that lead to postsecondary credentials and high-skill, high-wage careers. This includes earning college credit and/or certifications with value in the labor market. The grant establishes a regional network, including San Jacinto College, workforce boards, business and industry partners.
This is the fifth consecutive Perkins Reserve award Sheldon ISD has received for a total of $2,725,000. Previous awards supported the King Nurses in Training, welding, pipefitting, electrical, health science, and CTE summer bridge programs.
