AP World History (Period 4)

Course Description

AP World History offers students an overview of the entire history of humankind. The major emphasis is on the study of significant people, events, and issues from the earliest times to the present. Included in the study are the foundations of civilization, comparative religions, Greek philosophies, Middle Ages, Renaissance and Reformation. Additional emphasis is placed on the growth of the nation- state and nationalism, revolution and world war, and the effects of imperialism on the Far East, Africa, and Latin America. Higher level thinking skills including individual research and critical analysis on selected topics will be incorporated into problem solving studies. This course meets the requirements for G/T.
